Who Are We?

Ok,  this sounds interesting!  There are questions though.  Right?  So who is RV Wings?  Well, RV Wings was founded by Steve Ingraham.  Mr. Ingraham was just like you at one time.  He wanted to fly since he was a kid watching planes fly overhead.  However, like most, he never got the chance to experience flight until many years later.  Of course taking that first flight can really hook a fella!  Hmm, I can see how this might take a bit if we cover all of that detail.  So, if you are interested in reading more, just click on the button below and get the full story.

RV Wings, Steve Ingraham, has been my go to guy for all kinds of help when my work becomes overwhelming. Steve has traveled to my shop in Texas to bail me out, catch me up, on many RV projects. I recommend Steve to help you build your airplane. Call Steve if you need to speed up your build. I do.

RV Wings Experience

So getting to fly an airplane is really a special experience!  It can change the course of a life from that point on.  Such is the case for Steve Ingraham, the founder of RV Wings.  After that flight came obtaining a Private Pilot's License.  Then the bug was planted for owning an airplane.  What is the use of a license if one could not utilize it?

So now there was this itch to own his own airplane.  But wait!  How is this going to work?  Airplanes , even old and well heeled airplanes, were out of the price range for this newly licensed pilot.  Well, early on this journey Steve discovered KitPlanes magazine.  (What?  Oh, sure.  Go ahead and click on the link.  We can wait for you to check it out.  It is a great magazine for individuals like us.  When you get back make your way back here to read on.)

Hey!  Welcome back!  Did you check out the magazine?  For us experimental aircraft builders it is the best!  Ok, onward shall we?

Lets see, where were we?  Oh yes, that's right.  So, Steve had started reading KitPlanes magazine and noticed there were a lot of people out there who were building their own airplanes and actually flying in them. Well, that was just fantastic!  Then the next thing he discovered was this national organization called the EAA.  This was the Experimental Aircraft Association and it was made up of thousands of guys like us who not only fly their own airplanes but they built them themselves also!  (Yeah, I hear you.  Ok, no problem, go ahead and check out the EAA website too.  LOL!  We will wait for you right here.)

Alright , welcome back again!  So hope you found a lot of good stuff to check out at the EAA website.  By the way, I might suggest you think about joining and attending the next local chapter meeting in your area. I think you will be happy to find out there really are a lot of people out there with the same interests you have.

Ok, maybe this will be the last of the distractions.  So anyway, that was it. The cast was set for Steve to start on his airplane building journey.  So over the course of a few years he ended up building an airplane.  Flying it.  Selling it.  Building another airplane.  Buying another airplane.  Selling another airplane.  Well, you get the picture.  Life is about airplanes now!

Many years later here we are.  RV Wings is the culmination of many years of life changing events that have led to wanting to help as many like minded amateur experimental aircraft builders as possible.  It really is exciting!

When you start building your dream Vans Aircraft with RV Wings here is some of the experience we will bring to your build:

  • The owner of RV Wings has built and flown two personal aircraft.  He currently flies an RV9A that he built and has been flying for many years.
  • Has over a decade of construction knowledge and experience with building Vans Aircraft.
  • Has installed numerous instrument panel upgrades and new construction panels.
  • Assisted with construction on RV9A, RV12, RV14A projects.
  • Has completed Garmin's G3X certified installation course.
  • Assists current owners with Condition Inspections on Experimental Aircraft.

Well, that's pretty much the story.  RV Wings exists to help as many builders as possible to achieve their dream of owning their own airplane.  So what do you think?  Are you ready to start your journey?  If so, then below is our email address and phone number.  Drop us a note or give us a call!
